The bill changes the law protecting people with autism and the Statute of Persons with Disabilities. It deals with the medical report that certifies autism or establishes a disability, and with the Identification Card for Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Ciptea). The initial version provided for the report to be valid indefinitely.

Acrescenta o § 4º, ao Art. 1º da Lei n° 12.764, de 27 de dezembro de 2012, para dispor sobre prazo de validade indeterminado do laudo médico pericial que atesta o Transtorno do Espectro Autista e o § 3 º, no Art. 2º da Lei Federal n.º 13.146, de 6 de julho de 2015, para dispor sobre a validade indeterminada para laudo médico pericial que ateste deficiência de caráter permanente não transitória e dá outras providências. NOVA EMENTA: Altera a Lei nº 12.764, de 27 de dezembro de 2012, que institui a Política Nacional de Proteção dos Direitos da Pessoa com Transtorno do Espectro Autista, e a Lei nº 13.146, de 6 de julho de 2015 (Estatuto da Pessoa com Deficiência), para dispor sobre o laudo médico que atestar transtorno do espectro autista ou caracterizar deficiência e sobre a Carteira de Identificação da Pessoa com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (Ciptea).
